Staff from Specsavers Thetford have leant their vocals to a charity single in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The single, I can count on you’ by indie band DryStoneWalls, officially released on iTunes, features backing vocals by the team.
Song's sales help sick children
All of the track's proceeds are going to the Children’s Hospices charity which supports families and provides care for children and young people with life-threating conditions across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
Paul Clark, store director at Specsavers Thetford says: ‘My sister-in-law, Danielle Rowe, is the lead singer of the band and when I asked her if they would be interested in recording a song she jumped at the chance. The original track was written by Danielle when she was a solo artist 10 years ago recording as Poloroid and has since been re-recorded for this collaboration.
‘I am a bit of a music nerd so I didn’t want this to be a novelty record it’s something that my team and I are really proud of.
'We felt like pop stars for the day'
We felt like pop stars for the day when we visited the recording studio to lay down the vocals so I hope people download the track to help raise further funds for such a worthwhile cause.’
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices fundraiser, Mark Loades is gratefulfor the support from Specsavers: ‘There have been a number of unique fundraising activities across East England's Anglia region and I think the charity single is a really creative fundraising idea.
All money raised will help us to continue our work and provide care and support to families of children who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses.’
