The opticians and staff at Telford have been kind hearted enough to raise more than £300 for the British Heart Foundation.
The team held a cake sale, asking customers to purchase a cake in return for donations on their stall in the Telford shopping centre.
On the day of the charitable cake sale, Warren Appleby, regional manager of the British Heart Foundation, paid a visit bringing along the charity heart mascot (pictured right) to show his appreciation of Specsavers’ support.
Cake sale went down a treat
‘Our cake sale seemed to go down a treat with local residents and we were pleased to receive so much support for the British Heart Foundation,’ said Rizwaan Makda, store director.
Store director Vinay Najran also commented, ‘Our staff put lots of effort into baking cakes so I’d like to pass on my thanks to everyone who got involved.’
Charity of the year
The British Heart Foundation is the UK’s number one heart charity and is one of the charities selected by Telford Specsavers to receive benevolent support from the store this year.
