Specsavers in Telford were at the Special Olympics GB National Games Sheffield 2017.
Vinay Najran, director of the Telford Shopping Centre store, was delighted to help those taking part in the biggest disability sporting event in the country, which took place in Sheffield in 2017.
He was based at the Ranmoor and Endcliffe Village Campus, along with all the athletes, where he provided a range of eye tests and free glasses were given to athletes who required them. Some of the assessments carried out included hand-eye coordination testing, depth of perception and eye tracking tests.
A word from the store director
Vinay said: ‘It was a great and humbling experience to assist as a clinician at the games. The athletes were all so positive and driven in their approach, an inspiration to us all.
'The team at Specsavers Telford has always been involved in local community events and it was great to be able to represent ourselves at a national event for the first time. We look forward to the next games!’
