Specsavers in Telford is putting local families in the frame this Easter with a donation of more than 90 chocolate eggs to family support charity, Home-Start Telford & Wrekin.
Staff collected the Easter eggs that will now be given to families facing difficulties in the local community, such as sickness, disability, bereavement or relationship breakdown.
‘Home-Start is a fantastic charity and one that we’re pleased to be able to support this Easter,’ said dispensing optician, Keiran McGrath. ‘It’s important to recognise that there are families in the area who are struggling to make ends meet or are facing difficult challenges in their lives, and we should make an effort to help where we can.’
Established in 1973, Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK and offers support to vulnerable parents and children across the country. The charity is run by volunteers who are trained to deliver emotional and practical support wherever needed.
Julia Allison, fundraising manager at Home-start, commented: ‘We’re absolutely thrilled to have received this generous donation from Specsavers. Donations and gifts such as Easter eggs make a big difference in the lives of those who really need it.’
Keiran added: ‘We hope that this small gesture will not only offer some comfort during the Easter period, but will also encourage others to do the same.’
