Staff from Specsavers in Telford joined nearly 300 cyclists, runners and walkers taking part in the A Good Day to Tri Hard charity fundraiser.
Rizwaan Makda and Vinay Najran, directors from the store based in The Borders, Telford Shopping Centre, cycled the 35 miles between Shrewsbury and Telford as part of the event to raise money for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
Telford Specsavers also sponsored the medals awarded to everyone completing challenge.
Over £21,000 was raised by the event to support the charity which is committed to improving cancer services for patients in Shropshire and Mid-Wales through the provision of specialist equipment and building.
The charity was set up in Bernard Lingen, Mayor of Shrewsbury in 1979 and local accountant Frank Davies. Over the years, the charity has invested millions in improving facilities for local cancer patients.
Riz spoke of the experience of the event and sponsorship, ‘It was fantastic for me and Vinay to take part in this event for such a good cause, from the sponsorship of the medals to the gruelling 35 mile cycle ride! We were happy to help and thank the staff at the store for their support. We look forward to working with more charities like Lingen Davies in the future.’
