Staff from Specsavers in Teignmouth have been reminding their community to consider eyecare charities during National Eye Health Week (21 to 27 September).
Digging out old specs
Specsavers, located on Bank Street, asked residents to dig out their old glasses and bring them to the store so they could be donated to the charity Vision Aid Overseas.
Specsavers Teignmouth store director, Michael Todd says: ‘So many people don't have access to eyecare services, so we want to try and help change that through Vision Aid Overseas.
Taking sight for granted
‘We highlighted the importance of eyecare charities during National Eye Health Week, as a lot of people in the UK take their sight for granted. We're still accepting glasses donations, so would like to continue inviting the community to hand theirs in.’
