Staff at Travistock recently organised a Zumbathon in aid of the charity, Guide Dogs, which proved to be a roaring success.
Staff successfully raised more than £250 for the charity while busting a groove and shifting shapes at the hour-long event held at King’s on Pixon Lane.
The class was led by local Zumba instructor, Janine Hodge, and welcomed enthusiastic guests of all levels of ability in the dance-inspired aerobic exercise class.
A word from the store director
Sarah Routly, store director, said: ‘The Zumbathon was brilliant fun and, better yet, we raised valuable funds for Guide Dogs. We get to see first-hand the good work that our friends at Guide Dogs do so we’re very grateful to everyone that donated and came along to take part.’
The money raised from the Zumbathon will help Guide Dogs to continue vital work in supporting the blind and partially sighted in the UK. As well as providing guide dogs for the visually impaired, the charity invests in canine and eye disease research, and campaigns for freedom of mobility for people who are blind and partially sighted.
