Specsavers Taunton is delighted to welcome their latest apprentice, Katie Oliver.
Katie, aged 21, has joined the team as an apprentice lab technician.
She said: ‘I studied psychology, sociology, and health and social care at sixth form and was looking for more than a job, I wanted a career opportunity. The best thing about the Specsavers Apprenticeship scheme is that there are so many possibilities and opportunities to progress, from working on the shop floor to becoming a dispensing optician and maybe even one day owning my own Specsavers store.’
A warm welcome
Emma Denham, Specsavers Taunton store director, added: ‘Katie has made a great start and we look forward to working with her and supporting her ambitions during her apprenticeship.’
Earn as you learn
Throughout Katie’s apprenticeship at Specsavers she will receive a personal development plan that aligns with her own ambitions. The apprenticeship scheme is seen by many as being a great alternative to college or university that allows you to earn as you learn.
