Members of staff at Specsavers in Tamworth have donated £900 to Comic Relief following spectacular fundraising for Red Nose Day (Friday 24 March).
The team swapped their usual uniforms Red Nose Day t-shirts and an array of ‘wrong trousers’ as part of the fundraising fun whilst encouraging customers to donate to the charity.
Store director Lisa Large commented: ‘We had a great day on Friday; there was a fantastic atmosphere and we’re so grateful to everyone who visited us in store to show their support for Comic Relief.’
Customers were encouraged to take part in this year’s Comic Relief theme, #giveusawave, by purchasing a pair of Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses, featuring a pair of waving hands, and sharing a selfie on social media.
‘The specs were very popular,’ Lisa added. ‘We completely sold out on Red Nose Day and are delighted to have raised £900 for such a brilliant cause. Every penny raised will go towards continuing the charity’s work in the UK and abroad.’
Specsavers in Tamworth joined other stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
