The team at Swiss Cottage have been busy behind the scenes and have collected over 2,000 pairs of unwanted glasses from the local community to help improve the eye health of those in developing countries.
Residents have been generously donating their old specs, which will be recycled by the charity for their metal content. The income generated will be used to build vision centres and deliver eye care services to some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people.
A word from the store director
Store director Rishi Ganatra has been championing the Vision Aid appeal at the store. He says: ‘We’re really impressed by the support from the community and the amount of specs we’ve managed to collect.
‘These donations will really make a difference to someone’s quality of life. So just remember if you have specs lying around at home just drop these in store.’
