The team at Specsavers in Swindon were joined by some four-legged friends during Guide Dogs Week (3-11 October), raising more than £200 for the charity.
As well as having guide dogs and their handlers in store, staff also donned neon outfits for Guide Dogs’ ‘Let’s Glow’ theme as they hosted an array of activities for customers.
Besides learning more about Guide Dogs’ work in the local community, customers could also win prizes by taking part in the ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition.
‘We’re so proud to have supported Guide Dogs this year with our Neon Day and really enjoyed having the guide dogs in store,’ said David Grieves, store director. ‘As well as being a great opportunity for customers to find out more about Guide Dogs’ work locally, customers generously donated £204 for the charity throughout the week!.’
Guide Dogs Week is the charity’s annual awareness and fundraising week which takes place from 3-11 October. Specsavers has proudly supported the charity for more than 10 years, raising a nationwide total of £270,000 to fund 25 guide dog puppies.
