The Swansea store has raised £154 for Brain Tumour Research thanks to the support of local residents.
Staff at Specsavers Swansea, on the Kingsway, organised a variety of fundraising events in aid of the UK charity, including a bake sale and raffle, with Mrs Cheryl Kelly winning the main raffle prize - a £125 gift voucher for spectacles.
The team also donned colourful headwear for the charity’s Wear A Hat Day, a Specsavers-sponsored event that aims to raise awareness and funds for its research and advocacy efforts.
‘We are delighted to contribute to Brain Tumour Research and support the vital work it does,’ says store manager, Tracy Hill. ‘Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
‘Brain Tumour Research is relentless in trying to find different treatments so every penny counts. The staff always make an effort with the fundraisers we hold and the people of Swansea never fail to impress us with their generosity.’
