Two talented young artists are celebrating after winning Swansea Specsavers’ emoji-inspired art competition.
Emoji-themed glasses range
Mostafa Rhys Rabab, aged 12, and Abida Akhter, aged 10, impressed the store team with their specs designs, winning a gift bag filled with emoji-themed merchandise including a cushion, notepads and stickers.
The creative duo were among scores who entered the competition this summer, which was started by the Kingsway store to coincide with the launch of its fun, emoji spectacle range. It features four emoji-inspired acetate frames targeting children aged four to 10 years.
Tracy Hill, store manager at Specsavers in Swansea, said: ‘We wanted to give our youngest customers something to get their creativity flowing and we weren’t disappointed with the entries.
‘Emoji is Japanese for picture character and that’s exactly what we got. The kids made a great effort. It was hard to pick a winner from all of the talented entries we received.
‘Given emojis’ world-wide appeal, we’re thrilled to have our own emoji-themed range in store and expect it to be a huge success.’
