Staff at Specsavers in Sutton-in-Ashfield have been raising awareness for dementia.
Better support for customers
The store currently has 13 dementia friends and 5 team members that have been on the Specsavers training workshop. All members of staff have had in-store dementia training to provide better support for customers with the condition.
The team also took part in Dementia Awareness Week, raising more than £50 for a local dementia support charity, Forget-Me-Not.
Nigel Davidson, store director at Specsavers in Sutton-in-Ashfield, said: ‘It is so important to have members of staff who are fully trained in dealing with patients diagnosed with dementia as it enables us to give the best customer service we can and really cater for all customers' needs.
'Everyone had a great day raising money for the local charity Forget-Me-Not and we want to say a massive thank you to all of the customers who came along.’
The Forget-Me-Not charity strives to offer support, provide information, relaxation therapy and a friendly atmosphere to those who suffer or who have been affected by dementia.
