Specsavers in Sutton Coldfield has raised more than £700 for local breast cancer support group, Breast Friends.
As well as holding fundraising days in store, the team also took part in the 2015 Great Midlands Fun Run, raising £761.45. At the charity’s annual awards ceremony in December – which is sponsored by the store – store directors Tim Goodhew and Giles Edmonds revealed that the fun run raised a grand total of £6,300 for the charity.
Store Director Tim Goodhew said: ‘We’ve supported Breast Friends for three years now and are really proud to have raised so much money for them in 2015. They do some excellent work locally and I’m sure the money raised will go a long way in helping them continue to support those with breast cancer.’
Breast Friends is a support group based at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield. Run by volunteers, the group offers friendship, support and emotional and practical help to those diagnosed with breast cancer.
