With much of the UK basking in a mini heatwave this month, Specsavers in Sutton is offering residents advice on protecting their eyes while out in the sun.
Advice from Sutton store director
Store director Charnjit Dhaliwal offers his top three quick tips for beating the heat and keeping your eyesight in check this summer:
1) Not all sunglasses are the same and some will not provide you adequate protection from the sun. We would advise customers to check that their sunglasses have the CE kite mark and are UV400 effective to ensure their eyes are properly protected from UV rays.
2) Sunglasses with larger lenses will provide your eyes with more protection as these will prevent more light from filtering in round the sides.
3) If you can help it, try to avoid being outside between 10am and 2pm when the sun’s rays are strongest.
The team at Specsavers Sutton are also happy to help with any further queries you may have around eye care.
