With the summer holidays now in full swing, Specsavers in Stroud is inviting children to come and join in with a fun day on Tuesday 4 August.

Kids clinics will run throughout the day to help encourage parents to make the most of the holidays and get their children’s eyes tested. Every child that has an eye examination will get a free ice Cotswold Ice Cream courtesy of Kendrick Street Deli who will be outside the store all day. A face painter will also be on hand to entertain younger customers.

‘We know the summer holidays can seem like a long six weeks for parents but it’s a great time to get their children’s eyes tested so they’re ready to start the new school year,’ said store director Riz Choonara. ‘The free ice cream should hopefully act as encouragement and I’m sure the face painter will be kept busy creating some wacky and wonderful designs, so please come down and get involved.’

At Specsavers all under-16s get a free NHS eye test. All glasses in Specsavers’ kids’ £64 and teens’ £85 ranges are free with under-16s’ NHS funding. Specs wearers can also choose a second pair from the £64 or £85 range for free. Both pairs can come with SuperTough Trivex® single vision lenses with a scratch-resistant treatment, or tinted prescription lenses and a UV filter free in the second pair.
