The winner of a competition held by Specsavers in Statford upon Avon has been announced.

To mark the launch of a new range of specs from Disney, children were asked to design a superhero complete with a unique superpower.

We have a winner

Guilherme Sabino-Ribeiro was crowned the winner after showing superhuman imagination with his creation of Cake Man, a superhero whose unique power is baking delicious cakes. Ten-year-old Guilherme picked up a family ticket to Legoland as a reward for his efforts.

Katie Jones, aged nine, was runner-up after designing Rexible, an extremely flexible superhero. She was given a family pass to Umberslade Farm Park as her prize.

Super thanks

Paul Griffiths, store director, said: “We are amazed by the talent Stratford has shown us these past few weeks. We have seen wonderful designs from a variety of ages and choosing a winner has been extremely difficult. Thank you to everyone who has entered, and congratulations to Guilherme and Katie!’
