Staff at Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon have been embracing their inner Christmas elves with their support for international relief charity, Operation Christmas Child.
The team at the store have been busy collecting gifts, and then boxing and wrapping them up for the charity, which then sends them onto children in need around the world.
'Delighted to support'
‘We’re delighted to be able to support Operation Christmas Child and to give something back ahead of Christmas,’ said Paul Griffiths, store director at Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon.
‘The staff all rallied round to donate and collect enough gifts to fill 14 shoeboxes, which will hopefully bring 14 smiles to children around the world.’
Established in 1970, Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief and development organisation that provides aid to disadvantaged communities in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Operation Christmas Child is one of the organisation’s biggest initiatives, with thousands of churches, schools and businesses across the country donating and collecting shoeboxes to be sent overseas.
