Big-hearted staff at Specsavers in Stranraer are encouraging local people to get their glam on to help support young people affected by cancer.
The George Street store has organised a fundraising dance in aid of CLIC Sargent – a charity which helps children living with cancer by supporting them and their families – and is encouraging the community to get involved in raising money for the cause.
Stranraer Rugby Club will play host to the fundraiser – which has a movie star glam theme – on 23 September.
A word from our store director
Specsavers store director, Elaine Hawthorn, said: ‘We’re very proud to be a big part of the community here in Stranraer and the staff are all very engaged and involved in local fundraising activities.
‘When we learned about the work that CLIC Sargent carries out within Stranraer communities and across the UK as whole, we felt very strongly that we wanted to do something to support that.
Dance the night away
‘The dance will be a really fun night with a lot of singing and dancing in aid of a good cause. We hope that people from across Stranraer and beyond will come along to support the charity on the night.’
The dance will take place from 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £7.50, are available from the store and from staff.
