Specsavers in Strabane backed the inaugural Specsavers North West Cricket Union’s Summer ‘Blitz Day,’ with over 80 children from seven local clubs attending.
Hosted by Bready Cricket Club the event featured blitz games, expert coaching and a fun packed Kidszone.
NWCU General Manager, Peter McCartney said he was delighted with such a large attendance, ‘It was great to see so many children from the local area at our newly launched Specsavers Blitz Day. We recognise the importance of introducing cricket and exercise to young people at an early age and with the support of Specsavers we can offer a fun, fast-paced cricket blitz day. Our partnership with Specsavers is growing and we have more youth events planned for August including our week long Under 12 and Under 14 Specsavers Warriors Camps.’
Congratulations to all who took part
Congratulating all the young people who took part, Strabane director and dispensing optician Emma Finn said, ‘It was fabulous to see everyone at Bready having such a great time and enjoying cricket and other related games.’
‘These events really help to inspire young people to pick up a new sport and enjoy exercise. Our whole team in Strabane is really pleased to support cricket, a game which the region is hugely famous for. Well done to everyone who took part.’
