The Stowmarket store has encouraged all local residents to donate their specs in aid of international sight charity Vision Aid Overseas which helps people living in poverty to have access to eye care.
The team collected more than 700 pairs of used and unwanted glasses from the community to help improve access to eyecare services in developing nations.
The director says
Store director Hillary Hayes, said: ‘We’re amazed at the generous contributions this year. It’s wonderful that the sale of the reusable materials from these glasses will help create a positive effect on the lives of people less fortunate.’
Dig those specs out
Hillary adds: ‘We’re going to continue the collection as it’s been so successful and we are sure there are still so many more people that may have unwanted specs lying in a drawer somewhere!
'All donations are welcome so why not have clear out your clutter this summer and bring your glasses in store for a worthy cause?’
