Deborah Morley, store director at Specsavers Stockport, explained: ‘Although Christmas is merry for most, there are unfortunately thousands of children who won’t have anything to open on Christmas day. By taking part in the Wood Street Mission, we hope that we have helped to make a difference to children across Manchester.'
The Wood Street Mission is a Manchester-based charity which has provided toys for thousands of local children, aged 14 and below. Launching in 1869, the charity recently celebrated its 150 year anniversary.
The charity has a Christmas shop located on Wood Street in Manchester, where families and carers can book an appointment and come and choose from the donated presents. If you wish to book an appointment, please call 0161 834 3140 or email email@example.com
