St Neots opticians donned their favourite pink clothing in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Raise vital funds

The Specsavers store in the town, located at 13 High Street, was decorated in pink balloons as staff laid on a tasty spread of cakes, teas and coffees to raise vital funds.

Fantastic sum

The store also held a raffle competition with a first place prize of a designer glasses voucher and a second place prize of a cuddly pink bear. Through raffle tickets sales and donations collected for the delicious baked treats in store, the St Neots team have been able to raise a fantastic sum of £250.

Fighting against this disease

Store Director, Rakesh Nanda, said: ‘The staff are overjoyed to have raised such a great amount for the Breast Cancer charity as well as awareness among the local community. The charity’s work is vital in fighting against this disease which unfortunately affects so many people and we are thrilled to be able to support it.’

Different rates

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Around 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Of these about 350 are men. It can be diagnosed at different stages of development and can grow at different rates. Breast cancer is also a complex disease and it is difficult to predict what course it will take in each person.
