Staff at Specsavers Stirling and their families recently completed a sponsored 10k walk in aid of Strathcarron Hospice.
The store more than doubled their £1,000 pledge and successfully raised £2,788 for the charity’s Raise the Roof appeal. The funds will go towards the £50,000 target needed to repair the roof of the hospice.
The repairs are vital to ensure that local people are supported during the most difficult of times. Without such repairs, the hospice will be unable to continue to provide expert end-of-life care, love and support to local people facing a terminal illness and their families.
The sponsored walk saw members of staff with their families and friends walk 10k around Stirling.
Susanne Akil, store director at Specsavers Stirling said: ‘Every year we work closely with Strathcarron Hospice to raise funds to go towards their important work. The sponsored walk was a fun way for our team and their families to spend time together while raising money for this very worthy cause.
‘Thank you to everyone who joined us on the walk and who have donated to help us exceed our target. We are thrilled that we managed to raise over £2700.’
Huge thank you
Claire Macdonald, Business Development Fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice, said: ‘Thank you to Specsavers Stirling for helping to “raise the roof” here at Strathcarron Hospice.
‘We need to raise £50,000 to fund vital roof repairs and the money raised by the team will go a long way in helping us to achieve this. The team are always such fantastic supporters of the Hospice and we really are grateful for their help with this campaign.’
