Specsavers in St Austell is supporting the 2017 British Citizen Youth Awards and is looking for local people to nominate deserving young people for their acts of kindness, bravery or compassion in the community.

Awards presentation

Those selected to receive an award will be invited to attend a special presentation at the Palace of Westminster in October 2017, where Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins will present the medals.

2016 winner

Last year Devon sisters Esme, aged seven and Bronte, aged four  were nominated and represented Devon at the awards presentation in the Palace of Westminster with Dame Mary Perkins and Pussycat Doll, Kimberley Wyatt.

The sisters were awarded for their fundraising efforts in support of their parent’s charity, the Mariposa Trust, a baby loss charity started in 2012.
