Guide Dogs Scotland is set to receive a cash donation of more than £500, thanks to the local Specsavers store. Specsavers St Andrews welcomed a special guest earlier this month, in the form of a giant fancy dress canine named Pippa.
Representatives from Guide Dogs Scotland spent the day collecting from generous locals and visitors, depositing donations at the South Street opticians.
All funds raised will go to Guide Dogs Scotland, which works to provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people.
Big hit with children and adults
Ross Scanlon, store manager at Specsavers in St Andrews, said: ‘Pippa was a big hit with passing children and adults alike. I’d like to say a big thank you to the charity for paying us a visit and everyone who donated so generously to the cause.
For someone who is blind or partially slighted, a guide dog can be life changing so we’re delighted to be able to offer our support.’
