Specsavers in St Albans has donated an impressive 2000 pairs of pre-loved specs to eyecare charity Vision Aid Overseas (VAO).
The charity will use the funds generated from the recycling of the specs to help build vision centres, train local eyecare workers and deliver eyecare services to remote and isolated communities in five African nations.
A word from the store director
Lewis Carroll, retail director of Specsavers in St Albans, said: ‘We have been proud supporters of Vision Aid Overseas for a number of years and our local community has really got behind our call to action.
‘Donations of pre-loved specs just keep coming and the latest donation we made totalled more than 2000 pairs.
‘We’re keen to keep the momentum going, so if you have an old pair of specs at home, pop into store and drop them in our donation box.’
