Having been with Specsavers for over 20 years, St Albans store director Lewis Carroll knows his field well. We find out what drove him towards a career in optics and what still drives him today.
A passion for science and customer service combined
From a young age, Lewis had an interest in science, but he also came to discover he enjoyed talking to people, and the customer service industry, and this is what prompted him to first open his independent practice in Kingston, working as a contact lens optician for many years.
He later opened one of the first Specsavers stores, in Bishops Stortford, and worked there for almost 20 years before starting at the St Albans store as Retail Director.
On his team
Lewis says he really enjoys working with his team at St Albans, with many of the team having worked there for a number of years. He’s proud to say they each have a strong passion for looking after their customer’s eyes and bring a huge amount of knowledge to their work.
In his spare time
When he’s not in-store, Lewis can often be found on his bike. He’s an avid cyclist and rides to work most days from his nearby home. When on holidays with his wife Karen, who also works in-store, Lewis is likely to be headed towards the water armed with his water skis.
