Members of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity received a generous donation from Specsavers in Stafford following its ongoing support of the charity throughout 2016.
The team pledged its support to the Air Ambulance last year, collecting donations from a range of fundraising activities. Representatives from the charity visited the store recently to be presented with a total of £513.
‘Last year was our 25th anniversary, which we happen to share with the Midlands Air Ambulance, and we wanted to offer our support to a charity that is highly valued in the area,’ said store director, Jason Guy.
‘We received a great response from our local community, so a big thank you to everyone who has contributed towards the continued work of such an important charity.’
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity serves the communities of six Midlands counties, including Staffordshire and Shropshire, operating three aircraft to provide rapid response in emergency situations. Established in 1991, the charity relies on donations from the public and local businesses, helping it to respond to more than 2,000 missions each year.
Jason continued: ‘We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to support the Air Ambulance for the past year. It’s been a real pleasure to meet with members of the charity to learn more about the valuable and life-saving service they provide.’
Katie West, fundraising manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, commented: ‘We’re so pleased to have had the support of Specsavers Stafford in 2016 and are extremely grateful for the generous donation we’ve received. We’re both committed to serving our communities to the best of our abilities and it was an added bonus to share our 25th birthdays. Thank you Specsavers.’
