The team at Specsavers in Spalding are celebrating a great fundraising result, after a rush of activity in the lead up to Christmas, in aid of Save the Children.
As well as Christmas Jumper Day, head fundraiser in store, Bethanie Chappell, organised games throughout the week to boost funds, raising a total of £127.65 in the week. Activities included a sweepstake for the chance to win a free pair of glasses as well as a gift hamper worth £20, won by customer Tina Gilbey and a ‘Guess How Many Candy Canes in the Bowl’ game, won by customer Levi Lester.
‘We had a lot of fun raising money for this very worthy cause over Christmas,’ said store director, Ian Stradling. ‘I’d like to say a huge thank you to our customers and community for their generosity and for getting into the spirit of Christmas with us to smash through our fundraising target of £100.
‘Save the Children makes a difference to the lives of children all over the world, and we’re delighted to be supporting them,’ he added.
On Friday 14 December thousands of people up and down the UK started their day by pulling on a Christmas jumper to help create a brighter future for children.
