Specsavers in South Shields has made a donation to a local hospice on its 30th anniversary.

The store on King Street has donated £150 to St Clare’s Hospice in aid of its 30th Anniversary Black Tie Charity Ball.

The local hospice in South Tyneside celebrated 30 years of hospice care by throwing a glittering event in June.

The donation made by Specsavers was put towards the raffle that took place on the night.

Bryan Clark, director of Specsavers South Shields, says: ‘We believe it is important to contribute to our local area, and St Clare’s Hospice is a big part of the Tyneside community.

‘Our donation is a little thanks for all the great work they have done over the past thirty years.

‘The team had a great night at the event, and just like previous St Clare’s Hospice events, it was a huge success.’
