Specsavers in Solihull has proudly supported the town’s Civic Honour Awards for the eighth year running, recognising the unsung heroes who have made a difference in the borough throughout the year.
This year the team once again sponsored the Inspirational Young Person award which was given to Samuel Bowden.
‘The Civic Honours are a fantastic initiative that really give the whole community a chance to recognise those making a difference in and around Solihull,’ said Brad Parkes, Specsavers Solihull store director. ‘We try to give back as much as possible through our activities in store, especially in our 25 in 25 campaign this year. Sponsoring the awards is a great way to show our support for others contributing to a better community. We’re especially proud to have sponsored the Inspirational Young Person award.’
The Civic Honour Awards started in 2011 as a way of recognising local people in the borough
who make an outstanding contribution to their local community. Winners have ranged from individuals running sports clubs, charity fundraisers along with amateur theatre groups and railway gardening teams.
