Specsavers in Sleaford has provided their support for a promising motorbike racer, who made a special visit to the store to wow customers and locals with his bike.
Alex Platt, 23, from Lincoln, has benefitted from the sponsorship of the Specsavers store on Southgate, who have paid for £500 so that he can compete in a series of high-level races this season.
A budding motorbiking talent, Alex is racing with the Thundersport GB racing body, and is currently leading the Stock Twins championship having won 1st and 2nd in races at Brands Hatch and 1st and 3rd at Donnington Park last month.
Alex delighted customers and staff by bringing his Suzuki 650 Stock Twin racing bike into the Sleaford store, as well as show off his Specsavers branded leathers.
‘We were excited to welcome Alex into store to see his bike and hear about his exciting racing career,’ said store director James Coleman. ‘We have a very personal reason for supporting Alex to succeed – he is actually the son of our contact lens supervisor, Cheryl Cain-Lewis, so we are very proud to put our name to his very promising successes.
‘I think everyone – even non-petrol heads – enjoyed taking a look at what Alex will be racing and speaking to him about the championships.’
