The Skelmersdale team will be serving coffee and homemade cakes this Friday (30 September) to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Our very own Mary Berrys
The team of budding Mary Berrys from the store in the Concourse Shopping Centre will put their best bake forward on Friday, as they take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – a national fundraising initiative held by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Last year alone the campaign raised more than £25m for the charity which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those battling cancer, and pushes for a better cancer care system.
Local support is key
Store director Sully Patel is hoping that the people of Skelmersdale will get behind the cause and come along to the store on the morning to show their support: ‘The team are looking forward to welcoming customers and passers-by into the store for sweet treats and a coffee on Friday morning and we can’t wait to see the baking efforts on show.'
She continues, ‘This is all about local people coming together to do their bit for the cause, and we get to drink coffee and eat cake while we’re at it. It’s a win, win for everyone!
Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer or received help from Macmillan, and so we know what a difference the charity makes to the lives of those people.’
Come along to the store between 9am and 1pm on Friday 30 September.
