Staff at a Sittingbourne opticians and audiologists have been collecting clothes and donations in store, in support of New Leaf Support, a charity that provides refuge to victims of domestic violence, Riverside The Quays and Medway Street Angels, two local homeless charities.
The Specsavers team, with the help of the local community, managed to raise £310, as well as collecting over 50 bags of clothes to help local homeless people in need.
Great response from local community
Jia Chiang Cheong, director of Specsavers Sittingbourne, said: ‘We’re delighted with the response we’ve had from the local community in donating to our annual appeal to collect money and coats for the homeless.
‘Christmas is a time for sharing and helping those in need, and the donation of more than 50 bags of clothes shows the kindness and generosity of our customers and members of the Sittingbourne community.’
