Specsavers in Sittingbourne is calling out to identify a good Samaritan who donated 55 pairs of glasses to the store after finding them in a drawer in her new house.

Recognising generosity

The store is offering the woman a free pair of glasses and eye test if she comes forward, as the team are keen for the community to recognise her generosity.

Specsavers, located at Unit 7/8, The Forum, Sittingbourne received the unglazed frames from a customer who had stumbled across them upon moving into her new property.

The specs will be donated to Vision Aid Overseas, a charity which works in six countries in Africa to transform access to eye care.

Donating old and unused specs

Store director, Graham Jones says: ‘We’re very grateful to the lady who provided us with these glasses.

‘We’ve sent the frames off to our glazing laboratory so we can give them to VAO as soon as possible. It would be great if she could come instore so that we can offer her thanks and give her some free glasses.

‘We’re still collecting for the charity and encourage everyone to donate their old and unused specs to give to people in underprivileged countries.’
