Specsavers in Shirley has raised over £300 for Gift of Sight, a charity which funds research into the prevention and treatment of blindness.
Store staff donned fancy dress each day to coincide with different themed days, such as 80s fashion, and encourage people to donate to the charity with collection tins instore.
Gift of Sight funding aids research carried out at the University of Southampton, which includes investigating illnesses such as Age Related Macular Degeneration, which can reduce vision as a person ages.
Store director Leighton Simmons said: ‘I would like to extend my gratitude to our customers for their continued generosity.
‘The amount of work that goes into the research at Southampton University is astounding. We want people to continue to donate money so that they can keep making a difference.’
