After fire recently destroyed the Specsavers store on Sauchiehall Street, the opticians has now secured a new city centre location.
The store is set to reopen in one of Glasgow’s busiest shopping centres, Buchanan Galleries, in June.
The store’s director Sarah Freel says the announcement is testament to her team’s determination to get back to ‘business as usual’ for customers.
'Delighted to return to the high street'
She says: ‘The fire was a devastating blow for everyone who worked at Sauchiehall Street but we’ve worked hard to turn things around and are delighted to be returning to the high street so soon.
‘Buchanan Galleries is a prime location just along the road from our former store, and we can’t wait to welcome our customers there in June. Those who require eye examinations in the meantime will continue to be invited to other nearby stores where they can expect the same first-class service.
‘We are looking forward to seeing faces old and new in our brand new store. We’re also excited to have all our staff back under one roof as they are currently working from other stores in the vicinity.’
New state-of-the-art store
The new store based in Buchanan Galleries will feature five state-of-the-art test rooms equipped with the latest clinical equipment for eye examinations and soundproof technology for audiology services.
As well as an on-site lab enabling same day prescriptions, the store will feature 3D eye scanning technology and BlephEx equipment which provides treatment for the common eye complaint, blepharitis.
