Meet 23-year-old, Connaire Shannon from Belfast, who is currently an optometrist at Specsavers Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
Connaire has been with Specsavers for three years since successfully graduating with an honours degree in Optometry.
What made Connaire chose optometry
Connaire said: ‘From a young age, I knew I wanted to get into a career that allowed me to help members of the public in some way. I looked through many different options and Optometry really stood out to me.
‘I looked into the career more and became really interested in the subject and found it was something that I could see myself getting into. I am glad I did as it has turned out to be a really rewarding career path to go down.’
Why Connaire loves his job
Connaire explained: ‘I have always worked in Optometry and I really love that my job involves interacting with a diverse demographic of people. I always enjoy how varied each day can be.
I also find it really fulfilling to be able to meet and help so many members of the public on a daily basis. I really do get so much satisfaction from my job and that is a constant reminder of why I chose Optometry’.
