Staff at Specsavers in Salisbury are hosting an in-store fundraiser supporting pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic School as they prepare to take part in the Rock Challenge finals.
From 09.30 on Saturday 28 May, staff at the store will be selling cakes, biscuits and treats with a healthy twist and staff are encouraging locals to come down and make a donation, which will contribute towards funding the group’s travel, costumes and expenses. Rock Challenge is a performing arts event which promotes healthy life choices.
Frame consultant, and proud mum of one of the competitors, Wendy Herbert said: ‘The team at the school has worked incredibly hard and we hope to help them reach the finals with as many donations as possible. We wish them the best of luck on the day.’
Rock Challenge UK sees thousands of young people take part every year. The final, which will take place on 20 June at the Portsmouth Guildhall, will see competitors from across Hampshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire battle it out for title.
