Specsavers in Salisbury had a great 2017 and looks forward to many exciting developments in 2018.

On behalf of all the team, directors Sue and Anna would like to thank customers for their ongoing loyalty and reflect on the highlights from the year and hints at what's coming up for 2018.

Helping scouts eyes stay safe during 2017's eclipse

Laverstock Scout Group got in touch ahead of their US trip to see a once in a lifetime event - a total eclipse.

The Scout Leader wanted to ensure the children's eyes were safely protected during the viewing of this amazing spectacle so we were honoured to dig deep to pay for their solar viewers. The Group had an amazing time and even appeared on BBC Newsround!

Bubble Rush 5k dash in 2017

The team were keen to support the local Salisbury Hospice during a 5k race at this fun event. Suffice it say, it was a rather messy and frothy affair but much fun was had by staff members who took part. Thanks once again to all the customers who sponsored and helped this very worthy, local cause.

Vision Aid Overseas cause in 2017 and this year

An ongoing collection point sees Vision Aid Overseas benefit from customers' unwanted and broken glasses. Money raised from the recycling of the parts goes towards the charity who help improve eye health in developing countries.

The charity is able to train opticians and give the gift of sight to those less fortunate than us. If you wish to donate any frames, please do drop them into the collection box in our store.  A big thank you too to everyone who donated old glasses in 2017.

Great fashionable frames debut in store last year

Some amazing brands launched last year and are proving to be very popular with our customers. Kylie Minogue designed an exclusive range for Specsavers and we also welcomed Parisian brand, Balmain into store. Children saw My Little Pony launch along with some Disney lines - all of which proved very popular indeed.

What's in store for 2018?

There are some very exciting frame launches coming up. Crayola for children has launched and kids really like the bright, colourful hues.

Aside from frames, the team's focus on customer satisfaction remains paramount. For customers who haven't had a sight test in two years, please do pop into store soon as your eyes are precious and deserve care and attention.
