Staff at Specsavers in Ross-on-Wye have been on a fundraising mission for the month of October with events to support causes such as Guide Dogs UK.

Friday 12 October saw the team bake up a storm to offer customers sweet treats in exchange for charitable donations for Guide Dogs. Younger visitors to the store were invited to show off their creative talents with a children’s colouring competition as well as try to guess how many doggy treats in the jar and guess the name of the dog.

Supporting the Guide Dogs
Staff also welcomed local resident Rob and his guide dog Pickles to talk to customers about the wonderful work of Guide Dogs and raised almost £120 for the charity over the two days.
‘I’m really proud of the fundraising efforts of the team. Guide Dogs do incredible work, so we’re really pleased to be able to support them.’

Guide dogs provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people. The charity also campaigns for the rights of people with visual impairment, educates the public about eyecare and funds eye disease research.
