Romsey Opticians join in the fun at 24th annual
Beggars fair Romsey residents danced away to folk, jazz, blues and soul as the 24th annual Beggars fair kicked off on Saturday 9 July. Team members from Specsavers joined in the fun for the second year by handing out 25% off vouchers and balloons. The store also donated £200 to support the local community in funding the yearly event.
Fun for all
Store director, Eve Robertson, said: ‘Having opened our doors a year ago, we wanted to show our commitment to the community by supporting this event. It’s so much fun for everyone to be able to share our wonderful town here in Romsey, enjoying the sights and sounds that the festival brings. ‘It’s a tradition here and I know myself, and many of my team, have been coming to the Beggars fair for as long as we can remember.’
Visitors from far and wide
eople from all over the country flocked to see and hear over 80 acts across 20 venues for free at the Romsey’s summer music festival. The Beggars Fair is an annual event run entirely by a small team of enthusiastic volunteers. It has been running since 1993 and is living up to its aim of showcasing local talent in a friendly environment.
