A mind coach and personal trainer from Romford has been chosen from a cast of thousands as a regional finalist in Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2018.
And Shane Haron popped down to the South Street store recently to meet the team and collect his prize of champagne, a certificate and a voucher towards some new specs.
Shane, who is 30, runs the Mind Coaching Clinic in Romford where he helps people overcome anxiety, trauma and chronic pain amongst other things.
He has also worked as a personal trainer – including time spent with some celebrity clients.
A word from Shane
Shane said: ‘We did not have a lot of money when I was growing up, so when I first needed glasses when I was 13 the choice available was terrible. I was bullied at school anyway, and terrible glasses just added to the mix.
‘My fiancée encouraged me to enter Spectacle Wearer of the Year, and I am really pleased that I did. Somebody has to win, after all. If it is me, I want to continue to build my business to help local people tackle the challenges they face and live their best life.’
A word from the store director
Bhavi Mistry, store director in Romford, said: ‘Shane is a really worthy regional finalist, and we were delighted to see him in store.
‘He is very stylish and a lovely guy, and would make an excellent overall winner. We will all be keeping our fingers crossed for him for the rest of the competition.’
