Specsavers in Ripon will be hosting a weekend of fundraising this August in aid of children’s charity the Make a Wish Foundation.
18 August to Sunday 20
Ripon Specsavers will be raising money for the foundation from Friday 18 August until Sunday 20 August, by hosting a lucky dip in Ripon Square, with entry donations going to the children’s charity and each entry guaranteeing a prize.
The store will also be donating £1 from each 2 for 1 dispense made over the three days to the charity.
This fundraising effort comes in support of store manager Alison Lee who will be taking part in the Great North Run 2017 in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation.
Alison, who has been an employee at the store on Fishergate for more than 12 years, says: ‘Taking on a half marathon is a huge personal challenge for me, however running on behalf of such an amazing charity will definitely help me over the finish line.
‘I hope the people of Ripon are feeling generous over the weekend, so we can raise plenty of money for the Make a Wish Foundation.’
The Make a Wish Foundation supports families across the UK by making the dreams of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions come true, whether these be walking with dinosaurs, meeting a celebrity hero or having the ultimate bedroom makeover.
Make sure you head into store between 18 and 20 August to make your donation to the cause.
