Specsavers in Ripley are thanking locals for their generous support for their charity appeal, donating Easter eggs in store for Home-Start Ripley – a charity offering parents help to build better lives for their children.
The team on Oxford Street acted as a collection point for chocolate eggs in the month leading up to Easter and donated the eggs to Home-Start a few days before so that families were able to enjoy them on the day.
A word from the store director
Ripley Specsavers store director Kuldip Dosanjh commented: ‘We have pledged to support Home-Start for another year because they do such fantastic work in Ripley. We are always looking for ways to give back to our community, and we were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of locals helping us to make the Easter period an easier time for families who are facing difficulties.'
Across the UK, thousands of Home-Start volunteers visit families in their own homes every week. They support parents in situations as diverse as bereavement, births, disability or simply those who are struggling. The support and advice they provide are non-judgemental, practical and emotional. The aim is to build the family’s confidence in allowing them to cope with their situations. For further information please visit www.home-start.org.uk
