Locals are being encouraged by Specsavers in Ripley to support their charity appeal by donating Easter eggs in store, which will be given to Home Start Ripley – a charity offering parents help to build better lives for their children.
The team at the store on Oxford Street will be acting as a collection point for Easter eggs in the month leading up to Easter (Sunday 1 April), and hope to donate the eggs to Home Start a few days before so that families can enjoy them on the day.
Ripley Specsavers store director Kuldip Dosanjh commented: ‘We have pledged to support Home Start for another year because they do such fantastic work in Ripley. We are always looking for ways to give back to our community, we hope to collect as many eggs as possible in the coming weeks to help make the Easter period an easier time for families who are facing difficulties.
‘Every donation can make a difference, so please give what you can and help Home Start to support families in our town.’
Across the UK, thousands of Home Start volunteers visit families in their own homes every week. They support parents in situations as diverse as bereavement, births, disability or simply those who are struggling. The support and advice they provide is non-judgemental, practical and emotional, and the aim is to build the family’s confidence allowing them to cope with their situations.
