An opticians in Richmond hosted a festive prize draw in support of a local charity who have set their sights on building an eco-friendly community facility.

All cash raised during the annual Christmas prize draw at Specsavers in King Street will be donated to Just the Job’s The Big Green Build initiative.

Just the Job is a charity and environmental enterprise which supports adults with a wide range of abilities by offering practical, work-orientated therapeutic activities including gardening and arts and crafts.

The group, which is currently based in Gallowfields Trading Estate in Richmond, recently secured planning permission for a new facility which will incorporate specialist activity rooms, fully accessible toilets with changing equipment and multi-use outdoor areas for horticultural projects.

The Big Green Build looks to raise £600,000 to help incorporate solar panels, a green roof, reed bed water filtration, timber frame construction and straw bale insulation as part of the project.

Prizes up for grabs at the Christmas draw included afternoon tea, a round of golf, beauty and spa vouchers and much more. Winners were announced on December 21.
