Specsavers Redruth staff played host to Wear A Hat Day to raise awareness of the importance of regular eye tests and to raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research.
A nationwide partnership
The team joined stores nationwide to officially sponsor the charity for the first time and help raise awareness that routine eye tests can detect signs of brain tumours.
A word from the store director
Jonathan Eva, store director at Specsavers Redruth, said: ‘This was a fun way to raise awareness of the importance of eye tests that many people are not aware of.
‘Thanks to new sophisticated technology used during a routine test your optician can detect serious issues that can be both sight and, in some cases, life threatening – including brain tumours.’
How does Brain Tumour Research invest funds raised?
Wear A Hat Day has raised over £1million since it was launched by the charity Brain Tumour Research nine years ago. Funds raised are used to build a network of experts in world-class, sustainable brain tumour research in Centres of Excellence across the UK.
